The Parma City School District’s three high schools, Normandy, Parma Senior and Valley Forge, are inviting current eighth grade students not enrolled in the PCSD to learn more about what makes the district a great place to learn and grow.

Starting in early November, these three high schools are opening their doors to prospective eighth-grade students to experience an entire school day. These prospective students will be able to see the classes, Career Tech programs, athletics, and student clubs, along with meet the faculty and students which comprise these exceptional learning communities.

“The minute you step foot in any of our buildings, you will see the difference we provide,” explained Audrey Holtzman, Administrative Specialist for Enrollment and Recruitment. “You will see how dedicated our staff members are, how excited our students are to learn, and how quickly you will become part of our tradition and family in PCSD.”

When students register for an upcoming Shadow Day, they will have an opportunity to maximize their visit by visiting programs and classes that interest them the most.

“We will pair up compatible current Parma City School students with future Parma City School students,” Holtzman added. “We want students to have a real PCSD school experience, go through the day and go through the same classes, programs, and athletics that they might want to be involved in. We want to give them a real experience because we believe that they will be absolutely blown away with the opportunities and the culture that all three of our high schools provide.”

Prospective students must register for an upcoming Shadow Day. Normandy and Parma Senior High School will be offering these days on Friday, November 1 and Friday, November 8, 2019. Valley Forge High School will only be hosting students on Friday, November 8. Students visiting these schools must submit a completed consent form and will be provided lunch at no cost. In addition, if a child knows a current student enrolled at a PCSD high school building, they can request to shadow that student for the day.
