PCSD Announces New AD
The Parma City School District is proud to announce Chris Medaglia as the new district Athletic Director. Medaglia is no stranger to PCSD; he was previously the AD for Valley Forge High School.
Chris is a 1990 graduate of Holy Name High School. He attended Kent State University where he graduated with a degreein Physical Education K-12. He continued his education receiving his Masters Degree from Marygrove College in the Art of Teaching.
He started his teaching career in Cleveland and on the football staff at Buckeye High School; he became head coach of the team in 2002. In 2005, under his leadership, the Buckeye football team
earned the school’s first perfect season and won the Patriot Athletic Conference. That year Chris was awarded the Associated Press Ohio Division III Coach of the year, the Cleveland Plain Dealer Coach of the Year and the Medina County Fall Sports Coach of the Year.
He became head football coach of VF in 2007 and AD of the high school in 2007. He also has been the Northeast District Girls Basketball Division 1 tournament manager where he oversees sites for the district & regional tournaments.
As AD, Medaglia said he looks forward to building and connecting our programs from the youth leagues to the HS varsity teams. “I want young families in our community to aspire to be a part of the high school programs. I am also looking forward to assessing and upgrading our athletic facilities”, he stated.
Chris and his wife of 28 years, Kimberly, reside in Middleburg Heights. They have two grown children. Their son, Nicholas, works as a CPA for Applied Industrial Technologies and their daughter, Ali,is a pediatric oncology nurse at UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.
