Principal's Message - November 25

At Thoreau Park, we believe it is our mission to increase student achievement and social-emotional health through student-centered instruction, positive family-school partnerships, and providing a safe learning climate.

Thanksgiving break begins this week. School will be closed on Wednesday the 27th, Thursday the 28th, and Friday the 29th. There will not be a weekly call next weekend due to the holiday. I hope everyone has an enjoyable Thanksgiving.

Our 3rd and 4th grade Choir Concert is coming soon. The concert will take place at the Parma Senior High Auditorium on Tuesday, December 3rd at 7:00 PM.

On Thursday, December 5th, Thoreau Park is holding our annual Third Grade Reading Guarantee informational meeting for Kindergarten through 3rd grade parents. This will not be an after-school event this year. Rather, the event will run from 3:00-3:30 at school. More information will be coming soon.

The winners for this week’s grade-level attendance competition are: room 113 Mrs. King, room 108 Mrs. Kassay, room 215 Mrs. Oleksik, room 203 Ms. Ryan, room 211 Mrs. Haws, and room 109 Ms. Dudas. Each class will get to randomly pick a reward on Monday. Great job being on time and ready to learn.

Our weekly Leader in Me moment. Spending time on the things that are most important is a great example of Habit #3 Put First Things First.

As always, you can follow Thoreau Park, an OHIO PBIS Silver Recognized school, on Twitter. Our twitter handle is @PCSDthoreaupark. Thank you and have a nice weekend.
