A Message from the Superintendent - May 2023 Bond Issue

Hello,

Our Board of Education today voted to place a 4.0 mill bond issue on the May ballot. If the issue passes, it will cost taxpayers $11.67/month/$100,000 of property value and fund the construction of the same centralized high school that we presented to the community last November.

As we reflected on our efforts from last fall, we recognized that we did not adequately explain the improvements that a new school can provide to student learning environments. We are committed to describing these more fully so that our communities can better grasp the importance of new construction. We very much want you to be a part of this process!

GPD Group, our architectural partners, will host a planning meeting on Tuesday, February 7 at 4:00 P in the Red Rees room for parents and staff members who live in the district. They will aim to best understand our priorities for the interior of the projected new high school. They will also engage us in preliminary planning of learning and community spaces to ensure that they design a facility to best reflect our needs and preferences.

Please use this link to register for the planning meeting: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfwQh9xd8pI7BK3SSLm8nfPWS-u_JDz4dyO39YaMf_4jrCXMw/viewform?usp=sf_link.

Further, please take a minute to review the plans we presented last year for the new high school: https://youtu.be/2975wYaLF-Q. We are hopeful that you will assist us in our work this spring to finally earn enough community support to build 21st century schools!
