Meet Angela Schwark: Our New PCSD Board of Education Member
Angela Schwark was born and raised in the metro-Detroit area of Michigan. Her father is a retired educator and that is where her love for education and public service was fostered. She graduated from Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan – where she earned an Associate’s Degree of Applied Science, majoring in Criminal Justice. Angela then served a total of 19 years as a Police Dispatcher/911 Operator, between three different police agencies. Finally retiring from the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office in Ann Arbor, MI. (Go Blue!)
Angela moved to Parma, after marrying her husband Justin, in 2018 and instantly fell in love with the community. Her son, Nolan, started kindergarten at Pleasant Valley in 2021, and that was the beginning of her love for PCSD. Joining the PTA Board as Council Delegate Alternate, she immersed herself in everything PTA. Serving as 2nd Vice-President on the Pleasant Valley PTA Board for the 2022-23 school year, and as a Council Chair for the Geranium Scholarship Fundraiser; her love grew even more.
Her daughter, Addie, will start kindergarten in the fall of 2025, so the health of PCSD and the welfare of all of its students are a top priority for her. She is a court appointed special advocate (CASA) serving children of Cuyahoga County. Angela serves as a part time Ministry Assistant for Grace CMA Church in Middleburg Hts. helping oversee Men’s Ministry and Global Outreach. She also enjoys serving in other church ministries.
Angela’s hope for her time as a PCSD Board Member is to bring unity to the community, so that the students can be best supported and cared for. This is a true honor and a vision that she does not take lightly.
Angela will serve on the Policy Committee.
