Get WISE program sponsored by GM helps PCSD students pursue career in science, engineering

Get WISE program students

June 3, 2019

Seventh grade girls from Hillside, Shiloh and Greenbriar Middle Schools visited the GM Metal Fabrication Division/Parma Metal Center on May 16, 2019 for the Get WISE program!

This is the second year for the program, which inspires girls to dream big and pursue a career in science, engineering and technology.

Get WISE, which stands for Women In Science and Engineering, had several interactive activities for students to learn about successful women in science, as well as the automotive industry and what work is completed at the GM facility in Parma.

Girls tested their skills in escape rooms, learned about sound and noise in a tech challenge, received a tour of the GM facility, learned about metal stamping, and much more.

There were prizes, games, and giveaways throughout the day. Students were able to be on the production floor as well as sit in a variety of GM cars and trucks.

Thank you CBS Connects, PCSD Career and Technical Education, and GM Parma Metal Center for making this opportunity possible for our students!
