PCSD Welcomes New Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction.

The Parma City School District is proud to announce Amy Cruse as the district’s new Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
Amy is a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School in Kent, Ohio. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at John Carroll University, her master’s degree in Gifted Education at Kent State University, and her leadership and administrative licensure at Roosevelt University in Chicago. She earned her superintendent’s license and doctoral degree at Youngstown State University.
She most recently served as a Director of Curriculum in Cuyahoga Falls City Schools and as a Curriculum Consultant and Gifted Coordinator with the Educational Service Center (ESC) of Northeast Ohio. She taught in Twinsburg Schools, served as an instructional coach in Chicago Public Schools, and worked as a principal in Brooklyn and Streetsboro Schools.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children, who are involved in baseball and ballet. They also have a dog, Romeo. They are avid Cleveland sports fans and especially love following the Browns and Guardians.
In her new role at PCSD, Amy is looking forward to connecting with teachers and administrators to support the teaching and learning practices in the district. She values collaboration and student-centered approaches and is excited to build upon the instructional frameworks that have been established.
Her advice for students as they head into the new school year? She says, "Be present. Stay engaged in your learning. Celebrate your small accomplishments and keep going."
