Carpentry
-
The Carpentry program covers the aspect of basic residential constructions. Beginning level students will learn to use hand-tools and both portable and stationary power tools. Students will work on the framing of walls, floors and roofs and receive experience working with siding, roofing, drywall, doors, window and interior trim. Emphasis will be placed on reading blueprints as students work together to construct a full-size house in the shop. Estimation and related math skills are needed. The carpentry facility is accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research.
