Title I

Title I, Part A is the oldest federal education program in existence today. The program is governed by the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, which was reauthorized in 2015 by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Parma City School District’s Title I program spans grades K-4 providing supplemental services in the instructional areas of reading and mathematics. The Title I teachers and the classroom teachers work collaboratively toward meeting the needs of each Title I served student.
The following schools are Title I served:
Dentzler Elementary
John Muir Elementary
Pleasant Valley Elementary
Ridge-Brook Elementary
Thoreau Park Elementary
Green Valley Elementary
All of the schools listed above are considered school-wide programs.
These schools have a student population of 40% or above that are receiving free/reduced lunch. These schools typically are utilizing a reform model for reading and/or math to improve their students’ academic success. Notice of Parents Right to Know
PLEASE NOTE: The Parma City School District will participate in the state assessments during the announced testing window provided by the Ohio Department of Education. Dates will be posted on the school's website/parent newsletter. Parents may request information regarding any state or district policy regarding student participation in any assessments mandated by the state or district, including a policy, procedure, or parental right to opt the child out of the assessment where applicable.
