Parma School of Choice

School of Choice Notification January 2026:

In the past, our families could request a different building through the School of Choice application process.  This has been limited in recent years.  Most families are content with their home building, and in the last few years, we have received fewer requests. 

Due to limitations involving staffing, facilities, and financial resources, the Parma City School District will be phasing out the School of Choice (SOC) options beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. The District’s goal is to provide this information so that families can understand what to expect and plan accordingly.

For the upcoming 2026-2027 school year:

• Current (2025-2026) SOC students may remain at their school for the 2026-2027 school year - no application is needed.
• Only siblings of current SOC students will be permitted to apply for SOC in the building where the sibling is attending for the current (2025-2026) school year. No other applications will be accepted. 
  • The SOC application for siblings only will open on March 2, 2026 and remain open until April 3,  2026.

For the 2027-2028 school year, students who are SOC participants in the 2026-2027 school year may remain, but no additional applications will be accepted. These changes do not impact those students who are placed at another school based on special education services.
