PCSD Kindergarten Information
The Parma City School District is proud to continue to expand our efforts to meet the needs of all learners. In that, we have enhanced our Kindergarten opportunities, capitalizing on the significant educational foundation of Kindergarten.
Kindergarteners begin school one week after grades 1–12 to allow for a staggered start that helps ease their transition into the school environment.
All PCSD elementary schools host kindergarten orientations for incoming kindergarten students and families. We invite you to join us as we welcome your student! During orientation, you and your child will meet the kindergarten teacher and learn more about elementary school and classroom routines. Please bring your student’s classroom supplies at this time.
On your orientation day, parents/guardians should plan to arrive with children at 9:40 AM. (Don't arrive early or you will be caught up in arrival traffic!) The orientation will begin by 10:00 AM and end by 11:00 AM. Students will remain at school for the rest of the day until the regular dismissal time, 3:40 PM. Parents or guardians should expect to pick up children at this time unless bus transportation eligibility (greater than 2 miles from home school) and you have confirmed bus stop locations in the Home Access Center. Extended Day Child Care is not available for kindergarten students on orientation day.
