Seasonal Projects

Since 2021, Nutrition Services has teamed up with the Parma City Schools PTA to enhance community wellness through an innovative partnership. By purchasing Sun Gold tomato plants from the PTA's annual geranium fundraiser, we've distributed over 3,000 tomato plants to families across the district. This initiative has empowered families to cultivate their home gardens, fostering healthier eating habits and a love for gardening.

Seasonal activities and projects include planting gardens, visiting farms, and using locally grown ingredients in menus. It also includes teaching kids to cook with local foods and bringing farmers to the schools to teach kids about farming and food production
