Meet the Principal

  • Dear Renwood families, I would like to take this opportunity to re-introduce myself to you. I have been an educator with the Parma City School District for 21 years. The first 16 years of my career I  taught grades 4-6 at Pleasant Valley, Thoreau Park, and Shiloh. In 2017, I began my administrative career as the Dean of Students at Pleasant Valley and Thoreau Park. I continued as the Dean at Thoreau Park for the next 4 years. In 2021, I accepted the position as the Assistant Principal at Renwood and Parma Park Elementary Schools. I am honored and humbled to be the next Principal of Renwood. My beliefs as an educator include:

    1. All students can learn and all students have gifts and talents that can and should be recognized.Mr. Keating photo

    2. Educators need to support the whole child - academically, socially, and emotionally.

    3. The growth that a child makes in a year (academically, socially, emotionally) should be recognized and celebrated as much as that child’s achievement.

    4. Schools succeed when they have the support of families, students, and the community.

My role as a leader is to help bring all those pieces together for the students in my building. The 2022-23 school year will bring challenges and opportunities for growth for the entire Renwood school family. I look forward to working with the Renwood staff to continue the positive academic and social-emotional growth we have seen in our students this past year. I look forward to working with the Renwood families and PTA to continue to honor and recognize our students for their many accomplishments. And I look forward to working with the Renwood community to continue to offer an outstanding education for the Renwood students. I am excited to work with the entire Renwood staff to create a safe, positive, and engaging learning community that builds a foundation for lifelong success for our students. I can be reached at (440) 885-2338 or via email at keatingc@parmacityschools.org with any questions or concerns. I am excited to be the next Principal of Renwood Elementary!
