STEM Application Information

  • The purpose of creating the application is to provide applicants with a clear and consistent delineation of the Parma City School District’s STEM Learning philosophy and program.

The digital application provides a streamlined process for families as well as ease of use, timestamped submissions, and access. For incoming Kindergarten students, once the application is complete and the teacher recommendation has been submitted, the applicant will receive an application number. You will receive an email if accepted.

For students applying for STEM Project-Based Learning in grades 1-8, applications will be accepted based on space available. Students MUST be registered in the Parma City School District to be accepted into STEM.

All new students to the STEM Project-Based Learning program MUST complete the online application and teacher recommendation. Applications will be reviewed by a committee of STEM Coaches, building administrators and the department of curriculum and instruction.

Application Procedures

      • Kindergarten STEM Application and STEM Grades 1-8 Applications  for the 2023-2024 school year will be open from January 2, 2023 - January 31, 2023

    • STEP 3: Complete and sign the STEM Contract

    • STEP 4: A PCSD representative will email the teacher’s email provided in the application with instructions for them to fill out their online teacher recommendation.
      • Kindergarten STEM applicants are NOT REQUIRED to have a recommendation from a teacher. If your student is currently in a preschool program or another schooling option, you are welcome to include contact information for a teacher, but this is optional and will not disqualify your incoming Kindergartner from applying to the STEM program.
STEM applications for Grades 1 - 8 MUST have a teacher's recommendation. If you do not provide a teacher's email, your application WILL NOT be processed. All teacher emails can be found under 'Contact Us - Staff Directory'.

    • PLEASE NOTE: Kindergarten STEM selection is by a lottery system with numbers assigned to each application. PCSD will use a random number generator to help in the Kindergarten selection process.
