Gary Gross '75
-
In cross country, Gary was undefeated in Lake Erie conference meets and set five course records throughout his career. In track, Gary broke numerous meet records in the 3200m and 1600m events and was the Lake Erie League champion in 1975.
Gary was part of a track team that still holds 9 of the 17 track and field school records. Gary was recognized often in the Cleveland Press’ high school track honor roll as one of Northeast Ohio’s top runners. His coaches shared that Gary was one of the hardest workers on the team and led by example as a humble and competitive athlete.
His summers were spent running with his teammates in preparation for each season. His easy natural running style was a joy to watch and he was most at peace while doing what he loved…..running.
Gary recently passed away at the age of 61.
