21st Century Discovery Centers

  • Discovery Center

The Parma City School District operates the Discovery Center at Thoreau Park Elementary School, funded through a 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant. This federally funded program is a free after-school program for 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students attending Ridge-Brook and Thoreau Park Elementary Schools.

The objectives of the 21st Century Discovery Center are to provide academic intervention in math and reading, social and emotional learning,  youth development enrichment activities, and parent engagement.  The discovery center provides a safe environment for students to learn and receive help with homework, participate in enrichment activities in technology, the arts, character education, physical fitness, and many more areas of interest.  We will be hosting family events and providing field trip opportunities.
