Ed Jayjack - Class of 1970

  • Ed Jayjack '70 Ed was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 5"' round. He played from 1970-1974 for the New York Yankees farm teams in Johnson City, Oneonta, Fort Lauderdale, and West Haven. In his time at Normandy, Ed played football, basketball, and baseball. In 1976, Ed was a member of the National Championship team in the Stan Musial Baseball League.
     
    While at Normandy, Ed earned several honors in baseball at the catcher position including being selected as an All State catcher. He was also named to the Plain Dealer Dream Team and was the 1970 MVP of the All State East baseball team.
     
    Ed attended Cleveland State University and earned a Bachelor's degree of science in civil engineering. He worked for 40 years for Davy McKee American Electric.
     
    Ed is a current resident of Dublin, Ohio and is semi-retired. He is married to Dorothy Decesare (Normandy Class of 1971). Together they have 3 children, Lindsey, Allison, and Edward; as well as three grandchildren. He currently serves as a consultant for Kokosing Construction.
