Dean Rahas - Class of 1992

  • Dean Rahas Dean was a three-year varsity player for the boys basketball team under Hall of Fame Coach John Stavole. During his senior year, he led his team to a 21-3 record. The 1992 team was undefeated in the Lake Erie League and won the Division I District Championship en route to winning 21 games in a row, which is still a school record. Dean was named Third Team All-Ohio, First Team All-District, First Team All-Lake Erie League, First Team All-Sun Team, First Team Plain Dealer All-Scholastic, Channel 43 Top Ten Team, Team MVP and Greater Cleveland Basketball Coaches Association All-Star.
     
    He went on to play his freshman year of college basketball at Ohio University and later finished his career at Cleveland State University for legendary coach Rollie Massimino.
    Dean holds the No. 12 position the Patriot all time scoring list with 789 points.
     
    Dean began his teaching and coaching career at Olmsted Falls High School then returned to Cleveland State as a graduate assistant. He was named the head basketball coach at Revere High School in 2002 and remains there as a teacher and coach. Dean has coached back-to-back undefeated Suburban League teams while being named Suburban League and Summit County Coach of the Year.
