Bill Riggle - Class of 1988

    Bill Riggle, a 6-foot-5-inch forward, led the Patriots as a team co-captain his senior year to the Lake Erie League Championships along with the District and Regional Championships. The team made it to the Final Four, the first ever for a Parma school. The team finished with a 21-4 record and won the LEL with a 9-3 record.
     
    In his career, he scored 814 points, averaging 25 points and 10 rebounds his senior year. He ranks in the top 10 for most points in one season with 447. In February of 1988, he was identified as the Plain Dealer’s Boys Basketball Player of the Week after scoring 38 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against top-ranked Shaw High School. As a junior he helped the Patriots make an appearance in the district finals.
     
    After graduating, Bill continued his education and played basketball at the Air Force Academy. He played at the USAFA Prep School in the 1988-89 season. After earning his Masters Degree, Bill was an assistant coach at the Air Force Academy in 1993 and, on later deployments, participated on several base teams throughout the world. Lieutenant Colonel Riggle is currently serving our country at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany.
