Frank Janocha - Class of 1985

  • Frank Janocha  Frank Janocha played third base and batted cleanup for the Valley Forge baseball team. He started all three years from 1983 to 1985. In his senior year, he made the All-Lake Erie League Conference Team and was chosen to play in the East-West All-Star Game. The Valley Forge baseball team won the LEL Championship his junior and senior year. He received a scholarship to play basketball at Bowling Green State University.

    A versatile player, Frank was a three year starter in basketball. He played center as a sophomore and junior before moving to guard as a senior. In his junior year, the team went 18-3 and won the LEL Championship. The team was ranked No. 1 in Cleveland for most of the season. In his senior year, as co-captain, the team posted a record of 18-6 and came within a few points of being co-LEL Champions. The team made it to the district championship game.


    Janocha was a huge part of the success that Valley Forge basketball achieved during the 1980s. His hard work, dedication to excellence and competitive spirit infected the program. He was a fierce competitor, who at the same time, would work with and coach younger players. Frank is ranked in the top 25 of scoring leaders in Valley Forge program history with 604 points.
