Joe Schaefer - Class of 1972

  • Joe Schaefer  Joe  started 20 games at quarterback for Valley Forge. He threw for over 2,200 yards and 15 touchdowns. At one time, he held the record for the most touchdown passes thrown in a game with four.

    Joe scored 411 points during his basketball career, averaging 17 points per game during his senior year. He was named All-Lake Erie League and All-City Scholastic by the Call and Post. Joe was chosen as the Outstanding Athlete in the class of 1972.


    Joe went on to play football at the University of Virginia (1972 and 1973) and finished his college career playing college basketball at Cleveland State University (1974-1976).
