Jeff Olszewski - Class of 1977

    Jeff  participated in football, basketball, and baseball, earning nine varsity letters from 1974 to 1977. Jeff excelled in all three sports and he was elected captain of all three teams, earned First Team All-Lake Erie League in all three and earned varying degrees of All-State in all three sports. In football, Jeff was the quarterback and team leader. He was also the Player of the Year in the Lake Erie League, All-Scholastic, First Team All-Northeast Ohio, Back of the Year in Northeast Ohio and Third Team All-State while leading the team to an LEL Championship and a top ten finish in the Associated Press State Poll.
     
    In basketball, Jeff earned weekly honors of Plain Dealer Dream Team and Cleveland Press Star for his performance in victories of previously undefeated Cleveland Heights who had won 27 consecutive games, and Strongsville. He earned Honorable Mention All-State and is ranked 13th in scoring in program history with 773 points. In baseball, Jeff was elected to participate in the Annual East-East All-Star Game and earned Special Mention All-State.

    Jeff earned a scholarship to the University of Tennessee participating in football. He earned four varsity letters, and in 1980, was the Southwestern Conference Player of the Week in a 42-0 victory over Auburn. He broke the school record for consecutive completions in a game with 15.
