Larry Molls - Class of 1973
Larry Molls focused his Patriot athletic efforts on the football field and on the track. His 1972 and 1973 football honors included being named All-Lake Erie League, All-Plain Dealer and Cleveland Press Scholastic. He was also a Northern Ohio Touchdown Club All-Star and made the All-Ohio team. While on Coach Vicek’s track team, Larry ran in the 100, 220 and 440 yard dash events as well as the sprint relays. He qualified to the regional track meet in the sprints.
Larry was a scholarship running back for Coach Woody Hayes at Ohio State University. While at OSU, the Buckeyes won a Big 10 Championship and were in three Rose Bowl games and an Orange Bowl Game. Larry retired after 33 years as a firefighter and paramedic in Fairview Park.
As with most of the Hall of Fame athletes, Larry appreciated the support of his family and feels that the individual awards in team sports blur the lasting memories and achievements that all teammates share.
