Don Caravona - Class of 1964

  • Don Caravona Don was the first Valley Forge basketball player to be named All-Scholastic in 1963-1964 and was a two time Press Star and the MVP and captain in both his junior and senior year. He also was an All-Lake Erie League unanimous choice as a junior and senior.

    He was in the top 20 in scoring in just a period of two years. He quarterbacked the Valley Forge football team his senior year and played varsity baseball. He furthered his education at John Carroll University, where he was an All-PAC Conference player as a junior and senior.


    He was the MVP and captain both his junior and senior year at John Carroll. Caravona was the leading scorer of the Blue Streaks from 1966-1968. He was also the leading scorer for the PAC during the 1967-68 season and was inducted into the John Carroll Hall of Fame in 1982.
