Coach John Broski

  • Coach John Broski In 1961, John Broski was named the head basketball coach for inaugural Valley Forge team. In 1967 he led the Patriots to their first and only perfect regular season and an overall record of 22-1, which to this day stands as one of the top win totals in program history.

    Valley Forge won back-to-back Lake Erie League titles in 1965-66 and 1966-67. John also coached baseball with Patriot Hall of Fame coach Steve Rudo.


    Coach Broski had a stellar career at Cleveland South High School playing baseball. He also played basketball and earned six varsity letters. He was awarded a scholarship to play baseball at Western Michigan University and later played in the Cleveland Indians farm system as a third baseman.


    John was honored as the Ohio Coach of the Year in 1959 and Cuyahoga County Coach of the Year in 1967. He is a member of both the Greater Cleveland and South High Hall of Fame.
