The Ohio Department of Education for Physical Education states that we assess children on a scale of 3, 2 or 1.
- 3 is Outstanding
- 2 is Proficient
- 1 is Limited
You might see a grade of 1.5. This indicates that your child almost demonstrates the skill but not consistently. Likewise, a 2.5 indicates that your child is doing well, but not quite outstanding on a consistent basis.
Next to your child's name, you will notice a percentage. DO NOT PANIC and think that your child is "failing Gym class" because you see a percentage in the 60's or 70's! A student who receives all 2's (Proficient) in their evaluations will have a 67%, which is satisfactory (S) grade.
