PCSD Secondary Summer School
We are offering an opportunity for students in Grades 9 - 12 to recover course credit through our virtual summer school credit recovery program. Summer School will be held at Parma Senior High School in Room B245. Summer School is computer-based and self-paced. Students have five weeks to complete a course and must also work at home to complete on time. Students are required to bring their Chromebook, notebook, and writing utensil to summer school.
Dates: June 25 – July 26 (no school July 3, 4, & 5)
Time: 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Courses are Monday through Friday
2019 Summer School Secondary Testing
Students graduating in 2018 and beyond will no longer be required to take the Ohio Graduation Tests. Students will need to earn a total of 18 points on the following 7 tests and in the following combinations:
- 4 points total in English I and English II
- 4 points total in Algebra 1 and Geometry
- 6 points total in Biology, U.S. History, & Government
- 4 additional points in any of the above tests
All testing will begin promptly at 8:45 a.m. in the Parma Senior High School. The testing window is July 15 – 17. Students must register for testing by May 31st in order to test and indicate at that time if accommodations are needed.
PCSD Students must bring their registration materials (registration form and payment) to their high school treasurer.

Payment will be accepted in the form of a check or money order only. NO CASH PLEASE! All payment must be made in full prior to the start of summer school. For questions, call Ms. Gingo @ 440-210-8918.
There will be a meeting before the start of the first day at 8:00 a.m. on June 25. This meeting is mandatory for all students, and parents are encouraged to attend. The meeting will be in the Little Theater at Parma Senior High School.
Any student not finishing within the 5-week period will need to register for credit recovery (if available) to complete the course during the school year. Please note that there may be an additional cost to complete the course.
