Steve started the wrestling program when Valley Forge opened in 1961.  Under Steve's guidance, the Patriot wrestling team was soon a dominant power beyond the Cleveland area.  Valley Forge won eight Lake Erie League titles in Steve's 11 eleven years.  They also won 7 Brecksville Holiday Tournaments, sectional and district titles and brought home two State Runner Up trophies.  Steve and the 1972 Valley Forge wrestling team reached the top by bringing home the 1972 State Championship. Steve guided thirty state qualifiers and three state champions.  

 

He was also the first Valley Forge varsity baseball coach and did so for ten years.  He is a member of the Ohio University Hall of Fame.
