Dennis earned letters in football and wrestling.  Dennis was recognized as an All-Lake Erie League athlete and was the 1968 Patriot Outstanding Athlete.  

 

Dennis was a state wrestling champion on the 1968 Patriot Team which finished second to Maple Heights at the State Tournament.
