Woody earned three varsity letters in wrestling for Coach Rudo's Lake Erie League champions in 1965, 1966 and 1967.  He won the sectional and district titles and in his senior year, Woody became Coach Rudo's first Patriot State Champion.  He finished the season with a 30 win and no loss record.

 

He attended Syracuse University and won the Eastern Freshmen Tournament.  Woody was drafted into the United States Army in 1971 and served as a physician's assistant.
