Power of the Pen: Eighth grade members catch the bus right after school from Normandy to Hillside and we meet as a combined team from 3:15 to 4:30 on Thursdays. Participants write and share creative stories. The weekly meetings are fun and noncompetitive and everyone interested in writing is welcome. In January, students will have the chance to compete against other area 7th and 8th graders in a judged competition. Winners will go on to a regional and possibly state competition in spring. This is optional and free to participants.
