Mark Erdelyi - Parma Senior High School Class of 1969

    A two-sport athlete at Parma High, Erdelyi earned two letters in baseball and one in football. Pitching numerous no-hit and one hit games throughout his high school and over all career. He was known as one of the top left-handed pitchers in the area and state. Along with his selection as All Ohio, which was the elite and only one all division All-Ohio high school baseball team at the time (The East team vs, West team), Erdelyi was also selected as First Team All Lake Erie League baseball team, Plain Dealer Greater Cleveland's First Team All-Scholastic baseball team (for athletic achievements) and a Plain Dealer “Baseball Dream Team, Players of the Week”. Erdelyi was also selected to pitch in the Greater Cleveland East/ West all-star game.

    He also pitched in the elite All-Ohio, East vs West three game series in Jet Stadium, Columbus, Ohio.

    Erdelyi was a four-year letterman and starting pitcher on the Kent State baseball team where he was selected First Team twice for the Academic All-MAC team.

    Mark was also a Plain Dealer "Football Dream Team, Players of the Week” Honorable Mention at quarterback.
