Ron Mottl - Parma Schaaf Class of 1952

  • Ron Mottl '52 Ron was a standout in football, basketball, and baseball, earning varsity letters in all three. In basketball, he was All-Scholastic. In football, he received the Cleveland Touchdown Club's MVP Award. Also excelling in baseball, Ron earned a scholarship to the University of Notre Dame. As a stand out pitcher, he served as team captain of the Fighting Irish baseball squad.


    After graduation, he pitched in the Philadelphia Phillies farm system. Ron eventually became an attorney and has served our community in numerous positions including the Ohio Senate and U.S. House of Representatives.   


    Mottl is a Charter member of the Parma Senior High School Athletic Hall of Fame, inducted in 2007.
