Les Horvath - Attended Parma Schaaf 1936-1938
Les was a standout in football, basketball, and baseball for Parma Sr. during his freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons.
After high school, Les played collegiate football at Ohio State University, where he led the Buckeyes to the 1942 National Championship. In 1944, he was second in the nation in rushing and third in total offense. For his efforts, he was selected the Big Ten Conference MVP, first-team All-American, and won the Heisman trophy for the top collegiate football player in the country. While at Ohio State he earned four letters in football. He is a member of both the Ohio State and the College Football Hall of Fame. After graduation, he played professional football for the Rams and the Browns.
Horvath is a charter member of the Parma Senior High School Athletic Hall of Fame, inducted in 2007.
