Carmen Cozza - Parma Schaaf Class of 1948

  • Carmen Cozza '48

    Carmen earned 11 varsity letters in football, basketball, track, and baseball at Parma High.

     

    After high school, Carmen attended Miami University of Ohio earning 6 varsity letters: 3 in baseball and 3 in football. He played professional baseball for the Indians and White Sox.

     

    Carmen was head football coach at Yale University for 32 years. During his tenure at Yale, his teams won ten Ivy League championships. He was named Kodak District I Coach of the Year seven times and is a member of the Miami University of Ohio Hall of Fame, Yale University Hall of Fame, and the College Football Hall of Fame. 


    Cozza is a charter member of the Parma Senior High School Athletic Hall of Fame, inducted in 2007.
