Carrie McCarthy – Department Head

Mrs. McCarthy teaches 10th grade AP World History Modern and 9th grade US History Honors. Her extracurricular activities include Social Studies Department Chair, Building Leadership Team, Student Government Advisor, Student Poll Worker Contact and helping with the 8th grade field trip to Washington D.C. She received her Master Teacher designation from the state of Ohio in 2009. 


David Bakonyi

Mr. Bakonyi teaches AP Government and Politics and Government & Financial Literacy. He is also a freshman class advisor.
 


Marc Kirby 

Mr. Kirby teaches 10th grade World History, Topics in Social Studies and Sports History. In addition, he is the Yearbook advisor and photographer.  He teaches "The History of Sports" at Kent State University. 

James Jackson

Mr. Jackson teaches Government and Financial Literacy, AP Psychology, and Topics in Social Studies. 

Paul Spooner

Mr. Spooner teaches 9th grade United States History and 10th grade World History. Mr. Spooner coaches football at Valley Forge and is also involved in the Boxing Club at Valley Forge High School.
 

Chris Thomas

Mr. Thomas teaches AP Micro/Macro Economics, and Government and Financial Literacy.  Mr. Thomas received his Master Teacher designation from the State of Ohio in 2014.

Don Majercak

Mr. Majercak teaches 10th grade World History and 9th grade United States History. Mr. Majercak is also involved with credit recovery.

Greg LaGuardia

Mr. LaGuardia teaches 8th grade United States History and 8th grade United States History Honors.
