The Ohio Resident Educator program is a 4-year induction system of support and mentoring for new teachers. The Parma City Schools certified staff follow the guidelines that the Ohio Department of Education has established for integrating new teachers into the profession.

This four-year mentoring program is for each new educator who holds a four-year license and is the teacher of record for at least two classes.

All Resident Educators are mentored by experienced teachers certified by the ODE to act as Resident Educator Mentors. Successful completion of the residency program is required to qualify for a five-year license.
