The History of the C/B/S

  • CBS Logo The idea for the C/B/S Partnership originated in 1990 as a logical outgrowth of the Ohio Department of Education’s School Business Partnership. The C/B/S Partnership is designed to promote business and community involvement with and for the students of the Parma City School District, ultimately to benefit the entire community

In 1991, the Parma City School District’s building principals were asked if partnerships with businesses and/or community organizations would benefit the students. They responded unanimously that they would welcome a commitment by an individual or group to join in the education of our youth.

In 1995, the C/B/S Partnership became closely tied to Ohio’s BEST Practices – an initiative that identifies and promotes exemplary grass-roots education programs. The cities of Parma, Parma Heights, and Seven Hills have been named BEST Communities based solely on the quality of the public schools.

Today, the C/B/S Partnership develops programs with area businesses and community groups to enhance student achievement and to provide opportunities that will ensure future success for students.
