• Did you know that public schools produce 1.9% of food waste in the country, which amounts to 36.5 pounds of food per student per year?

Composting is a natural process that turns organic material into a soil amendment. This year, Dentzler Elementary School will be the first PCSD school to compost cafeteria food waste!

Nutrition Services has partnered with Rust Belt Riders, a Cleveland-based company, to teach and influence our students to create positive habits for the future. Through composting, our students will learn about sustainable practices and how these practices impact the planet.
