 | Don’t let your hard earned money go down the drain! | A dollar earned is not equal to a dollar to spend. Not after you pay income taxes! Keep more of your earnings and lose less to taxes by using the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) plan to pay for qualified medical or child care expenses. Whatever earnings you deposit in your FSA are exempt from income and social security tax. So a dollar deposited into the FSA is still worth a dollar when you need it, not 70¢ or less after taxes are withheld.
MEDICAL FSA
| DEPENDENT CARE FSA | Use the FSA to pay for any out-of-pocket medical expenses incurred for you, your spouse or dependents. This includes:
- Expenses applied to your insurance deductible
- Co-pays for prescriptions or office visits
- Dental & orthodontics (braces)
- Vision care, such as eye exams, glasses and contacts, or lasik surgery.
- Over-the counter medicines & supplies
| Use the FSA to pay for the cost to care for your children or other dependents while you work. Qualified expenses include:
- Day care or babysitting for your child under the age of 13.
- Preschool tuition (but not kindergarten!)
- Before & after school care
- Care for a dependent over the age of 13 if they are physically or mentally incapable of caring for themselves
