We begin the short story unit by reading some classic stories and discussing them. We'll be reading "The Rocket Man," by Ray Bradbury and "A Retrieved Reformation," by O. Henry. We'll then discuss plot structure -- the secret code that nearly all stories follow. This will lead into writing our own stories, both real and fictional. Finally, we'll learn about sensory details and how they can make both writing and reading a story a lot more exciting.
