PTA  Minutes from the April 24, 2007 Meeting:

Funding and Grants

Your PTA fundraising money at work! Proceeds from fundraisers go toward numerous school activities, some of which are specifically applied for by the staff. This year PTA is pleased to support with these funds the following programs: middle ages presentation, rockets program, hats for the Washington DC trip, recognition night, seventh grade orientation hospitality, and miscellaneous student incentives and rewards.

Geranium Sale

Flowers are due to arrive the week after Mother’s Day. Please pick these up as directed.

Scholarships

Thanks to everyone who bought flowers and other items through school sales this year benefiting our scholarship program. PTA is pleased to announce that the recipients have been chosen and the presentations will be made on May 16th.

Help Needed:

Promote school excellence by assisting with funds raisers such as the geranium and bake sales. As little as one or two hours a month will work. Days or evenings. E-mail PTA President Judi Langmead at jmlangmead@hotmail.com. with your availability. All help is truly appreciated.

Recording Secretary’s 2-cents Worth:

It was my privilege this year to be part of the review team for the scholarship applicants. Every single application I reviewed had merit, whether in a small or large way. My regard goes out to each and every student who took the time to complete the application and essay.

About this time of year, many schools’ PTA units start the search for new members to take chairperson positions. Shiloh PTA has several available - many involve only a few flexible hours a month. Feel free to attend a PTA meeting, held once a month on a weekday evening. E-mail PTA President Judi Langmead at jmlangmead@hotmail.com. with questions or for meeting times.

A big thank you for the efforts of all at the school concert on January 10. The choir(s), band, and jazz band performances were wonderful. The jazz band's tribute to the late James Brown received a big nod-of-approval from all of us parents who remembered his music so well.
