Canada Trip – Day One:
Welcome to Canada, Normandy! We started our trip early this morning, around 6 o'clock. The bus ride, while uneventful, may have been some of the students favorite part so far: sleeping off the early wake-up. After a rest stop, the crew hit customs, and, suddenly, we were in the Land of the Mounty: Canada.
We saw a matinee performance of Arthur Miller's "The Crucible", which met with a few shut-eyes and "Z's," but received an overall wonderful rating by the time the second act began. Prior to our first theatrical venue, the groups split up around the quaint little town of Niagara on the Lake, where many dined and shopped to their Canadian content.
At 5, shortly after the play ended, we headed back towards Niagara Falls and Clifton Hill. The groups were free the explore, and boy did we sure explore! All the way up and down the hill we tread, skipping and singing and laughing the way! A Burger with King Frank (yes, his middle name is "N." and his last is "Stein") then, as all good tourists must, we toured - the Rippley's Museum of Oddities on Clifton Hill!
The group certainly had a an interesting time inside the museum - but I'll leave that for you to determine exactly WHAT we may've been doing there. Afterward, the rain daunted us not: to the falls! Misty-eyed and similarly clothed, we met up with fellow Normandians and we all saluted Canada with a respectful human 'EH!!' To the delight of many, this has been a great day. Lou, signing off.
