New England Field Trip Day 2

Boston Trip – Day Two:   Hello from Plymouth!  Today we had a blast!  In the morning we left our hotel and went to Mystic Seaport, which was a historic ship building town, we learned.  We experienced the older village feel and explored various levels on some ancient sea vessels whose tight quarters were really no joke.  We then left and traveled to Newport, Rhode Island.  There, we toured the mammoth homes of the Newport Mansions including Rosecliff and The Breakers.  Did you know Rosecliff was inspired by the design of the Palace of Versailles, in France?  It was also the location of the films Amistad, True Lies, and The Great Gatsby.  We then ate a quick lunch at the Brick Marketplace.

Next we headed to Plymouth.  Our bus number 2 regretfully forgot to get off at an exit, got lost, and ended up in a real town called Hicksville near Massachusetts.  At the Mobile Mart, our driver went to ask for directions and was almost taken out by a station wagon.  After what appeared a fierce confrontation (doesn't the media always blow stories out of proportion?) we made our way and regrouped with bus 1.  The bus without TV's, which broke on the way.  We checked in and quickly prepared for dinner.  On the bus ride there, Brad read us a provocative children's book of a featherless duck where even some teachers were storytellers.  Brad, though, was the best, captivating the whole bus with his ability to hold his audience in suspense and entertain them with his lively reading.  We are currently waiting to finish the sad story.
