Boston Trip – Day Four: Boston, Lexington, Concord, and "Shear Madness"
Today everyone got a wee bit of a late start; considering that we started off at 9:00 sharp rather than leaving earlier than our projected times like we had been so far. Today was our city-wide tour with Charlie Kelley (spelling?), a elderly but wise man who has lived in the city for many, many years of his life. We saw many sites and interesting things today; amongst which were the Old North Church, Boston Harbor, the home of Paul Revere, and many others. Most of the day was spent on the bus, but there were certain points that we did indeed get off and were able to take some pictures.
After our whirl-wind tour of Boston, we offed to Lexington, the first half of the first battle of the American Revolution. We...'reenacted' the first battle with the British and the Colonists, which was mainly male vs. female when stripped down to its essence (thankfully, this was nothing major and not actual contact was made). After this, we traveled to Concord, the second half of the first battle of the American Revolution. Charlie proved to have extensive knowledge of every area we visited. In fact, he was a very amusing guide.
We stopped back at Faneuil Square (the place we stopped the first day) and watched some more street performers and ate; some elected to make a visit to the famous 'Cheers' bar and restaurant. After all, who wouldn't want to be in a place where everybody knew your name?
Tonight is the production 'Shear Madness', a murder-mystery who-done-it audience-participation comedy. I don't know who done it, but I'm guessing it's the barber...'shear' madness, get it?
