The Parma Area Community Television Network on Cox Channel 74, also known as the PACT, is proud to announce that it has been selected to receive a 2008 Silver Award of Distinction from the International Academy of the Visual Arts for its original production, the “2007 Entry Year Teachers of the Parma City School District.”
Using interviews and classroom footage, the award-winning episode chronicled the first year of teaching for 35 educators who were new teachers or new to the Parma City School District. Also featured was an informative segment with the directors of the district’s Entry Year Teacher program.
This is the third honor received by the PACT in 2008, the others being the Parma Area Chamber of Commerce’s Innovative Concept Pride Award and the Ohio Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association’s “Best of the Best” award for PACT Episode 39: “Red, White, Blue and Green.”
The Communicator Awards is a leading international creative awards program which recognizes excellence among communication professionals. This year’s contest featured over 8,500 entries from advertising and interactive agencies, production and public relations firms, graphic designers and in-house creative professionals.
The Communicator Awards is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, communications, advertising, creative and marketing firms. IAVA members include executives from organizations such as Alloy, Brandweek, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, HBO, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Victoria’s Secret, Wired, and Yahoo!
