Textbook Rebinds and Textbook Buy-Backs
The Academic Services Department implements these cost-saving procedures concerning textbooks:
Recycling of outdated materials – By participating in a textbook buy-back program, we are able to generate additional funds to purchase needed textbooks by trading in obsolete textbooks.
Rebinding of damaged textbooks – A new textbook can cost from $77 and up – seven to eight times the cost of a rebound textbook. Last year’s cost of rebinding was $10 per textbook.
Take a look a the statistics on the Parma City School District Textbook Inventory under EMILY. As of 11/11/2009 the district is tracking 102,556 different textbooks.
