This course provides an overview of both radio and television basics. Equipment training is provided on video camera, audio consoles, videotape machines, video editing, studio lighting, and computer generated special effects. Students produce news briefs, commercials, and other types of radio and TV shows. In addition, students produce a school oriented TV show that airs on Cox Cable.
In the second year of this course, the radio phase emphasizes audio operation, script writing, and engineering. TV production emphasizes remote camera production, lighting, staging, performance, producing, directing, and videotape editing. The business operation of the broadcast industry is also included.
Junior class meets 6-8 period.
Senior class meets 1-3 period.
