The Custodial Department again successfully coordinated the 2007 summer cleaning of the district buildings while working around the 16 major permanent improvement projects, along with the ever-increasing list of summer permits (there were over 60 permits this past summer) as well as the summer school curriculum offerings.
Through an earlier effort to improve the "First Impression" of our facilities, each of our district’s buildings now have at least one piece of automated floor care equipment. The availability of this equipment increases productivity while lessening the demand for additional cleaning personnel.
The Custodial Department personnel are responsible for cleaning 23 building for a total of 2,140,314 square feet. The regular staff of 102 employees consists of: 68 cleaners, 9 assistant custodians, 16 elementary custodians, 3 middle school head custodians, 2 M-2 laborers, and 3 high school head custodians provide a safe and clean environment.
The custodial department operates on a budget of approximately $461,000.00.
